Mining Engineering Group has a research roadmap from 2016 to 2020 with a major program of open pit and underground mining operations that are safe, environmentally sound and provide optimal benefits. The major research program will be achieved by collaboration between the sub-fields in the Mining Engineering Group, namely:

  1. Geomechanics and Mining Technology
  2. Mining Environment
  3. Mineral and Coal Policy and Economics

Mining Engineering Research Group is one of the Research Groups in charge of managing the Mining Engineering Study Program, along with the Earth Resources Exploration Research Group. Mining Engineering Research Group has the following vision, mission, and objectives.

“Conducting education, research, and community service activities in the field of mining engineering to produce open pit and underground mining operations that are safe, environmentally sound, and provide optimal benefits.”

Mission

“Creating, sharing, and applying knowledge in the field of mining and producing superior mining human resources to support the advancement of national development from the mining sector.”

Policy Direction and Strategy

The Policy and Strategy of FTTM-ITB Mining Engineering Group follows the framework in the form of the main objectives of the Mining Engineering Group in accordance with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education supported by Human Resources, Facilities and Infrastructure, and Organization as shown in the figure below.

Based on the outline above, the Mining Engineering Group tries to divide the program which includes:

KK Teknik Pertambangan memiliki roadmap penelitian dari tahun 2016 sampai 2020 dengan program besar operasi tambang terbuka dan bawah tanah yang aman, berwawasan lingkungan dan memberikan manfaat optimal. Program penelitian besar tersebut akan dicapai dengan adanya kolaborasi antar sub-bidang KK yang ada di KK Teknik Pertambangan, yaitu:

  1. Geomekanika dan Teknologi Penambangan
  2. Lingkungan Pertambangan
  3. Kebijakan dan Ekonomi Mineral dan Batubara

Masing-masing sub-bidang KK memiliki target dan capaian penelitian yang sesuai dengan bidang keahliannya. Secara rinci, program-program penelitian KK Teknik Pertambangan dapat dilihat pada Tabel berikut ini.

Kelompok Keahlian Teknik Pertambangan merupakan salah satu KK yang bertugas untuk mengelola Program Studi Teknik Pertambangan, bersama dengan KK Eksplorasi Sumber Daya Bumi. KK Teknik Pertambangan memiliki visi, misi, dan tujuan sebagai berikut.

Visi

“Melakukan kegiatan pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian masyarakat dalam bidang rekayasa pertambangan untuk menghasilkan operasi tambang terbuka dan bawah tanah yang aman, berwawasan lingkungan, dan memberikan manfaat optimal.”

Misi

“Menciptakan, berbagi, dan menerapkan ilmu pengetahuan di bidang pertambangan serta menghasilkan sumber daya insani pertambangan yang unggul untuk menunjang kemajuan pembangunan nasional dari sektor pertambangan.”

Arah Kebijakan dan Strategi

Arah Kebijakan dan Strategi KK Teknik Pertambangan FTTM-ITB mengikuti framework yang berupa tujuan utama KK Teknik Pertambangan sesuai dengan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi dengan ditunjang oleh Sumber Daya Manusia, Sarana dan Prasarana, serta Organisasi seperti pada Gambar di bawah ini.

Berdasarkan garis besar di atas, maka KK Teknik Pertambangan mencoba melakukan pembagian program yang meliputi:

Bidang pendidikan
  • Evaluasi dan persiapan penyusunan kurikulum,
  • Pembekalan kemapuan mahasiswa selama pendidikan,
  • Peningkatan prestasi mahasiwa,
  • Akreditasi nasional program studi S1, S2, dan S3, serta
  • Akreditasi internasional program studi S1.
